Soprano Sylvia D’Eramo stars as Gerda Wegener in the American premiere of Tobias Picker’s Lili Elbe at the Santa Fe Opera.
She is joined by Lucia Lucas in the title role. Conducted by Roberto Kalb and directed by James Robinson, the production tells the true story of Danish painter Lili Elbe and her wife, artist Gerda Wegener, and their extraordinary journey of love, identity, and self-discovery. Performances take place on August 1, 5, 14, 18, and 27, 2026.
