He then appears as Hunding in <strong><em>Die Walk\u00fcre<\/em><\/strong> at the Op\u00e9ra national de Paris under Pablo Heras-Casado in a production by Calixto Bieito. At La Scala, he participates in David McVicar\u2019s Ring cycle, appearing as Hunding in <strong><em>Die Walk\u00fcre<\/em><\/strong>, and making his role debut as Hagen in <strong><em>G\u00f6tterd\u00e4mmerung<\/em><\/strong>, under the baton of Alexander Soddy and Simone Young. Further engagements include Kecal in <strong><em>The Bartered Bride<\/em><\/strong> at Teatro Real Madrid, as well as a series of performances at the Vienna State Opera as Baron Ochs (<strong><em>Der Rosenkavalier<\/em><\/strong>), Hunding (<strong><em>Die Walk\u00fcre<\/em><\/strong>) and Hagen (<strong><em>G\u00f6tterd\u00e4mmerung)<\/em><\/strong>, both conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado in Sven-Eric Bechtolf\u2019s production, and Sarastro in <strong><em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em><\/strong>, directed by Barbora Hor\u00e1kov\u00e1 and conducted by Ivor Bolton. The season concludes with Daland in Der fliegende Holl\u00e4nder at the Birgit Nilsson Festival in B\u00e5stad, Sweden.<\/p>\n<p>Concert appearances include collaboration with Igor Levit at the Vienna Musikverein, featuring repertoire by Shostakovich, Ravel, Liszt, and Mahler. With pianist Julius Drake, he presents a wide-ranging Lied programme at Carnegie Hall, featuring both core repertoire and rare works by 19th-century song composers including Schumann, Hans Rott, Bruckner, Wolf, Mahler, and Strauss. At Musiktheater Linz, he appears in Schubert\u2019s <strong><em>Die sch\u00f6ne M\u00fcllerin<\/em><\/strong> with pianist Florian Krump\u00f6ck. He also performs Verdi\u2019s <strong><em>Messa da Requiem<\/em><\/strong> in Ko\u0161ice with the Slovak State Philharmonic under Robert Jindra. At the Taggenbrunn Festival, he gives a concert performance as part of the festival\u2019s summer programme.<\/p>\n<p>Operatic highlights of recent seasons include his appearances as Hermann in <strong><em>Tannh\u00e4user<\/em><\/strong> at the Vienna State Opera and the Bayreuth Festival, as well as King Marke in <strong><em>Tristan und Isolde<\/em><\/strong> and Gurnemanz in <strong><em>Parsifal<\/em><\/strong> at Deutsche Oper Berlin, with further appearances as Marke at Bayreuth. At the Vienna State Opera, where he is a frequent guest, his repertoire has included Veit Pogner (<strong><em>Die Meistersinger von N\u00fcrnberg<\/em><\/strong>), Orest (<strong><em>Elektra<\/em><\/strong>),\u00a0Sarastro (<strong><em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em><\/strong>), Heinrich der Vogler (<strong><em>Lohengrin<\/em><\/strong>), Baron Ochs (<strong><em>Der Rosenkavalier<\/em><\/strong>), Papst Pius IV (<strong><em>Palestrina<\/em><\/strong>), and Peneios (<strong><em>Daphne<\/em><\/strong>). He has also appeared as Baron Ochs and Hunding (<strong><em>Die Walk\u00fcre<\/em><\/strong>) at Teatro alla Scala, as Heinrich der Vogler (<strong><em>Lohengrin<\/em><\/strong>) at Staatsoper Berlin and the Gran Teatre del Liceu, and as Baron Ochs at Staatsoper Berlin.<\/p>\n<p>An acclaimed concert and Lied singer, Groissb\u00f6ck has performed at major venues including the Vienna Musikverein, Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Leipzig Gewandhaus, Carnegie Hall, Vienna Konzerthaus, Munich Philharmonie, Berlin Philharmonie, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, and Boston Symphony Hall. His repertoire in concert ranges from Haydn\u2019s <strong><em>Die Sch\u00f6pfung<\/em><\/strong> to Shostakovich\u2019s <strong><em>Symphony No. 13 Babi Yar<\/em><\/strong>, and he is widely praised for his musical expression, stylistic assurance, and exceptional textual clarity in both symphonic and vocal repertoire.<\/p>\n<p>Groissb\u00f6ck\u2019s discography spans major releases across leading labels, including <strong><em>Winterreise \/ Schwanengesang<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Herz-Tod<\/em><\/strong> with Gerold Huber for DECCA Classics. For Gramola, recordings include <strong><em>Nicht Wiedersehen!<\/em><\/strong> with Malcolm Martineau (awarded with Choc de Classica), <strong><em>M\u00e4nnerliebe und -leben<\/em><\/strong>, and <strong><em>Wiener Lieder<\/em><\/strong> with the Philharmonia Schrammeln, alongside <strong><em>In Te Domine Speravi<\/em><\/strong> with Matthias Giesen on the Bruckner organ in St. Florian.
