In a gesture of solidarity with the victims of the war in Ukraine, the Metropolitan Opera and the Polish National Opera gather leading Ukrainian musicians into the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra for a European tour. The tour will be lead by conductor Canadian-Ukrainian Keri-Lynn Wilson. The program includes Giuseppe Verdi\u2019s Overture of La forza del destino; Ukrainian composer Yevhen Stankovych\u2019s Concert No 2 for violin and orchestra, Ukrainian composer Myroslav Skoryks\u2019 Melody and Beethoven\u2019s Third Symphony \u201cEroica\u201d. The orchestra premieres their tour with the opening concert in Warsaw on August 20 with further stops in: Gdansk (August 22), Berlin (August 24) Lucerne (August 27), Amsterdam (August 28), Hamburg (August 30), Snape Maltings (September 2) and Barbican (September 3).<\/p>\n
