With his \u201c<\/em><\/strong>distinctive\u201d and \u201castonishing\u201d voice (ResMusica<\/em>), Italian tenor Omar Mancini is rapidly becoming an important young voice of his generation. In the 2026-2027 the tenor begins his tenure as an ensemble member of the Deutsche Oper Berlin where he makes important role debuts as the Duke of Mantua (Rigoletto<\/em><\/strong>), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni<\/em><\/strong>) and Almaviva (Il barbiere di Siviglia<\/em><\/strong>). Furthermore, he returns to Konzert und Theater St. Gallen to perform his highly anticipated role debut as Don Ramiro in Rossini\u2019s La Cenerentola<\/em><\/strong>. Mancini also appears with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano for New Year\u2019s concerts of Beethoven Symphony no. 9<\/em><\/strong> in Milan under the baton of Case Scaglione.<\/p>\n

Recent career highlights include Mancini\u2019s company and role debut as Tamino in Julien Duval\u2019s new production of Mozart\u2019s Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em><\/strong> at Op\u00e9ra National de Bordeaux under the baton of Joseph Swensen. In spring 2025, he made his house and role debut as Elvino in La sonnambula<\/em><\/strong> at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, appearing alongside Xabier Anduaga and Nadine Sierra.<\/p>\n

At the Deutsche Oper Berlin he made his debut as Il Conte di Libenskof in Rossini\u2019s Il viaggio a Reims<\/em><\/strong> and reprised the role in 2025. Further milestones include his debut at the Konzert und Theater St. Gallen as Tebaldo in P\u0131nar Karabulut\u2019s new production of Bellini\u2019s I Capuleti e i Montecchi<\/em><\/strong>, conducted by Michael Balke. At the Semperoper Dresden he appeared as Wagner in Eva-Maria H\u00f6ckmayr\u2019s new production of Boito\u2019s Mefistofele<\/em><\/strong>. He also joined the Metropolitan Opera to cover Lawrence Brownlee as Lord Arturo Talbot in Bellini\u2019s I Puritani<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Additional highlights include appearances at Teatro Regio di Torino in Salieri\u2019s La scuola de\u2019 gelosi<\/em> <\/strong>(Conte di Bandiera) and Berlioz\u2019s L\u00e9lio ou le retour \u00e0 la vie <\/em><\/strong>(Horatio\/La Voix Imaginarie de L\u00e8lio), his debut at Teatro Sociale di Como in Giovanni Sollima\u2019s Acquaprofonda <\/em><\/strong>(the Guardian), as well as a concert performance at the festival della Valle d\u2019Itria. A two-season participant in Bergamo\u2019s Bottega Donizetti, where he performed in C\u2019erano una volta due Bergamaschi<\/em><\/strong> and covered for tenor Javier Camarena in La favorite<\/em><\/strong> (Fernand) and in L\u2019ajo nell\u2019imbarazzo<\/em><\/strong> (Il marchese Enrico).<\/p>\n

On the concert stage, Mancini debuted with the Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Carl Orff\u2019s\u00a0Carmina Burana<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0and sang as the tenor soloist in Beethoven\u2019s Symphony No. 9<\/em><\/strong> with the Teatro Regio di Torino orchestra under Maestro Michele Spotti at the MITO SettembreMusica Festival. He also returned to Grand Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Gen\u00e8ve to perform Rossini\u2019s\u00a0Petite Messe Solennelle<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0at Temple de Saint Gervais.<\/p>\n

As a 2022-2024 member of the Grand Th\u00e9\u00e2tre de Gen\u00e8ve\u2019s Jeune Ensemble, he sang the role of Abdallo in Nabucco<\/em><\/strong> alongside Saioa Hernandez as Abigaille and Nicola Alaimo as Nabucco, covered Roberto\/Earl of Leicester in Maria Stuarda<\/em><\/strong>, and performed as Eurimaco in Monteverdi\u2019s Il ritorno d\u2019Ulisse in patria<\/em><\/strong> and Dritter Knappe in Wagner\u2019s Parsifal<\/em><\/strong>. To great acclaim he performed the Italian Tenor in Christoph Waltz new production of Strauss\u2019s Der Rosenkavalier<\/em><\/strong> and later presented the roles of Arbace in Mozart\u2019s Idomeneo<\/em><\/strong> and Fr\u00e8re Helie in Messiaen\u2019s Saint Fran\u00e7ois d\u2019Assise<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A graduate of the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, Mancini studied clarinet with Luigi Magistrelli and opera performance with Davide Gualtieri under the guidance of Gianluca Valenti. He later pursued advanced studies in Vocal Chamber Music with Daniela Uccello, graduating with full marks and honors in 2021. A recipient of several notable distinctions early in his career, Mancini won First Prize at the Antonio Falconio Summer Edition Competition and received the Licitra Award for Best Singer Under 26 at the Salvatore Licitra Opera Competition in 2019. In 2020, he was selected as a finalist in AsLiCo\u2019s Emerging Voices Competition. He made his professional debut as a soloist in Rossini\u2019s Petite Messe<\/em><\/strong> Solennelle<\/em> as part of the celebrations marking the 150th anniversary of the composer\u2019s death in 2018, shortly followed by his operatic debut as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi<\/em><\/strong> at the Capri Opera Festival.<\/p>\n
