The young Austrian mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna with a Master’s degree under Claudia Visca. She is a laureate of numerous competitions and was an Anny Felbermayer scholarship holder in 2019.<\/p>\n
In autumn 2020, she enjoyed great success with her debut as Cherubino in a new production of Mozart’s\u00a0Le Nozze di Figaro<\/em>\u00a0at the Theater an der Wien, conducted by Stefan Gottfried and directed by Alfred Dorfer. After two years in the opera studio of the Vienna State Opera, where she celebrated her first successes as Cherubino, and as Zerlina in a new production of Mozart’s\u00a0Don Giovanni<\/em>\u00a0under Philippe Jordan, she joined the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera from 2022 to 2024. Patricia Nolz received the Austrian Music Theatre Award for her interpretation of Zerlina in Barrie Kosky’s production of\u00a0Don Giovanni<\/em>.<\/p>\n She enjoyed particular success at the Vienna State Opera as Cherubino in the new production of\u00a0Le Nozze di Figaro\u00a0<\/em>conducted by Philippe Jordan and staged by Barrie Kosky, as La Musica & La Speranza in Monteverdi’s\u00a0L’Orfeo<\/em>, as well as Annio in Mozart’s\u00a0La Clemenza di Tito<\/em>, as Rosina in Rossini’s\u00a0Il barbiere di Siviglia<\/em>, as Si\u00e9bel in Gounod’s\u00a0Faust<\/em>, as Orlovsky in the traditional New Year\u2019s\u00a0Fledermaus<\/em>, as St\u00e9phano in Gounod\u2019s\u00a0Rom\u00e9o et Juliette<\/em>, and Silla in Pfitzners\u00a0Palestrina<\/em>under the baton of Christian Thielemann. Patricia Nolz made her debut at the Komische Oper Berlin in spring 2024 as Cherubino. The same production also marked her debut at the Edinburgh Festival that summer. In January 2025 she made her successful debut at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen with Rosina.<\/p>\n In the 2025-2026 season, Patricia Nolz can be seen once again at the Vienna State Opera as Cherubino, a role she will also takes to Japan as part of the house’s guest appearance there. Further highlights include her debut as Hansel in a new production of\u00a0Hansel & Gretel<\/em>\u00a0at the Op\u00e9ra National du Rhin in Strasbourg and her debut as Octavian in Strauss’\u00a0Der Rosenkavalier<\/em>\u00a0under the baton of Christian Thielemann at the Berlin State Opera.<\/p>\n Patricia Nolz has appeared in numerous concerts and is an accomplished lieder singer. Highlights of her young career have been concerts with Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra under Karina Canellakis, as well as with the Gewandhaus Orchestra under Andris Nelsons. She has also performed Purcell’s\u00a0Fairy Queen<\/em>, Bach’s\u00a0St John Passion<\/em>\u00a0and Schubert’s\u00a0Mass in A flat major<\/em>with Concentus Musicus under the direction of Stefan Gottfried at the Vienna Musikverein. She has successfully performed solo, duo and ensemble recitals in the Stephaniensaal in Graz, at the Schleswig-Holstein Festival, at the Heidelberger Fr\u00fchling, in Blaibach, Feuchtwangen, Moritzburg, Basel, Como and Bolzano. In summer 2023, Patricia Nolz made her debut at the Grafenegg Festival with Mendelssohn’s\u00a0A Midsummer Night’s Dream<\/em>, where she will return in summer 2024 with arias by Mozart and Haydn together with Concentus Musicus under Stefan Gottfried. The mezzo-soprano made her debut at the Salzburg Festival in summer 2024 in a Mozart matin\u00e9e under the direction of Ivor Bolton, where she returns in summer 2025 with Mozart’s\u00a0Mass in C minor<\/em>\u00a0under the direction of Gianluca Capuano.<\/p>\n In the 2023-2024 season, she was offered a special platform at the Wiener Konzerthaus as a \u2018Great Talent\u2019 with various orchestral concerts and recitals.
