Mezzo-soprano Kate Lindsey appears in Frauenliebe und -sterben at the Hamburg State Opera in Tobias Kratzer’s staging, conducted by Karina Canellakis with the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg.
The evening combines Robert Schumann’s song cycle Frauenliebe und -leben with Béla Bartók’s Herzog Blaubarts Burg and Alexander Zemlinsky’s Eine florentinische Tragödie. Lindsey performs the Schumann cycle, accompanied by pianist Éric Le Sage.
