Biography

Czech dramatic soprano Eliška Weissová has been a regular guest on international stages since 2006, performing with the National Theatre Prague, Welsh National Opera, Opéra de Rennes, Theatre Ústí nad Labem, and Slovak National Theatre. She made her auspicious house debut in 2022 at the Vienna State Opera as Kostelnička in Jenůfa under the baton of Tomáš Hanus. Her performance received critical acclaim, with many praising her powerful voice and dramatic depth.

The National Theatre Košice celebrate the 200th anniversary of Bedřich Smetana on June 22 with a concert performance of his Dalibor, in which Eliška Weissová will sing the role of Milada. Other soloists also include Peter Berger, Marián Lukáč, Michaela Várady, and others, with Tomáš Hanus conducting.

Eliška Weissová: The foreign Princess in Rusalka at Vienna State Opera

Eliška Weissová comes back to the Vienna State Opera to sing The foreign Princes in the revival of Rusalka production on March 31, 2024. Together with Corinne Winters in the title role and under the baton of Tomáš Hanus the cast brings back to stage the 2014 production by Sven-Eric Bechtolf. Further performances can be seen on April 2 and 4, 2025.
