Biography

Gabriela Scherer was raised in Zurich and studied with Prof. Horiana Branisteanu at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria and completed her studies attending the Opera Studio Zurich in 2006/07 and masterclasses with Angelika Kirchschlager, Francisco Araiza and Barbara Fink.

Gabriela Scherer & Michael Volle: Der Freischütz and Gala Concert at the Brixen Classics Festival

Gabriela Scherer and Michael Volle go to the Brixen Calssics Festival at Südtirol. On the 17th of June they perform roles of Agathe and Caspar with excerpts of Weber's romantic opera Der Freischütz. On the 18th of June the duo can be heard in a gala concert "My favourite songs".

Gabriela Scherer – role debut in Leipzig

After her sensational take over of title role of Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos with Berlin State Opera in January, the next exciting highlight for soprano Gabriela Scherer is due: her role debut as Elsa in Wagner's Lohengrin with Oper Leipzig. The openning night of the new production is on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Klaus Florian Vogt sings the title role. Gabriela Scherer is jumping in to sing the leading role in “Ariadne auf Naxos” at the Berlin State Opera. The production is staged by Hans Neuenfels. Performances are going to take place on 20 and 22 of January.
