Rolando Villazón: Orfeo son io at Musikfest Bremen and the Rheingau Music Festival

Rolando Villazón presents his acclaimed programme "Orfeo son io" together with L’Arpeggiata, soprano Céline Scheen, and Christina Pluhar, who conceived the programme and serves as musical director. Featuring arias and instrumental works by Claudio Monteverdi, Giulio Caccini, Luigi Rossi, Christoph Willibald Gluck, and other composers, the programme explores the enduring fascination of the Orpheus myth through music spanning from the early Baroque to the present day. Following its performance at Musikfest Bremen on 18 August 2026, the programme will be presented at the Rheingau Music Festival on 20 August 2026 in the historic Kloster Eberbach.

Conductor Keri-Lynn Wilson leads the Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra on this year’s Summer Tour, the 2026 Invincible Tour, performing across Europe and the United States from 16–26 August 2026. The tour will visit seven major venues: • 16 August – Teatr Wielki, Warsaw • 18 August – St. Paul's Cathedral, London • 19 August – Concertgebouw, Amsterdam • 20 August – Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg • 22 August – National Concert Hall, Dublin • 25 & 26 August – David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center, New York The programme is centered around two landmark works: Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 and Verdi's Requiem, performed with acclaimed soloists Ailyn Pérez, Natalie Lewis, René Barbera, and Soloman Howard.
