Biography

Amin Ahangaran, praised as a “full-bodied and firm bass” with a “beautiful nocturnal colour” (Opera Libera) and “one of the most charming voices of his generation” (OPERA Charm Magazine), is an alumnus of both the Accademia del Teatro del Maggio Musicale in Florence and the Zurich Opera’s International Opera Studio (IOS). Ahangaran has been a member of the ensemble at Opéra de Paris since 2024/25, a tenure he continues through the 2026/27 season.

The 2026/27 season holds exciting roles for Amin Ahangaran at the Opéra de Paris, where he appears as Fiorello in Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia, Pope and Gardien in Shostakovich’s Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, and Gregorio in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette.

Amin Ahangaran: Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Paris Opera

Amin Ahangaran takes the role as Fiorello at the Paris Opera in Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia. In Damiano Michieletto’s acclaimed production, Ahangaran joins an outstanding cast including Lea Desandre and Marina Viotti as Rosina, Huw Montague Rendall and Andrzej Filończyk as Figaro, Jack Swanson and Levy Sekgapane as Count Almaviva, Nicola Alaimo as Bartolo, and Adolfo Corrado as Basilio. Jader Bignamini conducts, with François López-Ferrer conducting the performances on 23 and 26 September. Performances take place on September 12, 17, 20, 23, 26 and October 1, 4, 7, 10, 24, 28 and November 1, 3 and 5.

Amin Ahangaran: La Traviata at the Paris Opera

The bass Amin Ahangaran performs the role of Dottore Grenvil in Verdi’s La Traviata at Opéra de Paris. The production by Simon Stone is performed under the musical direction of Marta Gardolińska. The cast includes Aida Garifullina and Pretty Yende as Violetta and Xabier Anduaga and René Barbera as Alfredo Germont. The performances take place on June 4, 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22, 25, 28 and July 1, 4, 7, 10, 13.

Amin Ahangaran: La Damnation de Faust

Amin Ahangaran appears as Brander in Zurich Opera’s concert version of Berlioz’s La Damnation de Faust. In this concert performance, he joins a distinguished cast that includes Saimir Pirgu as Faust, Elīna Garanča as Marguerite, and Stanislav Vorobyov as Méphistophélès, with the musical direction led by conductor Yves Abel.
