Biography

Ildar Abdrazakov has firmly established himself as one of opera’s most sought-after basses and one of his generation’s most celebrated and recognized artists. Since making his debut at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan at age 25, the Russian native has become a mainstay at leading houses worldwide, including New York’s Metropolitan Opera, Paris National Opera, the Vienna State Opera and Munich’s Bavarian State Opera.

Ildar Abdrazakov sings his signature role of Philip II and Mirjam Mesak performs the role of Tebaldo in the new production of Don Carlo at Opéra de Monte-Carlo staged by Davide Livermore and conducted by maestro Massimo Zanetti. Alongside Sergey Skorokhodov in the title role, Joyce El-Khoury as Elisabeth, Varduhi Abrahamyan as Eboli and Artur Rucinski as Rodrigo, the bass and the soprano can be seen on November 22, 24 & 26.

Bass Ildar Abdrazakov and tenor Edgardo Rocha take part in a production of Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Opéra Monte-Carlo. The production staged by Rolando Villazón and conducted by Gianluca Capuano was first premiered at the Salzburg Festival in 2022.
