Biography

Latvian pianist Georgijs Osokins is widely acclaimed for his rich sound and for his unique performance style. The first Baltic pianist to establish himself in the top tier of international classical artists, the Latvian-born, Berlin-based Osokins is celebrated for his performances of repertoire ranging from Bach and Scarlatti to Arvo Pärt and Pēteris Vasks, via Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff and many more. Critics highlight his “impeccable technique” (France Musique), “subtlety of touch” (The Strad) and “agility and grace” (Gramophone). Osokins is a Deutsche Grammophon Artist and has performed at major venues and festivals including Elbphilharmonie, Wigmore Hall, Carnegie Hall, Pierre Boulez Saal, Salzburg Festival, Lockenhaus Festival, Gstaad Menuhin Festival, Vancouver Playhouse, Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre Hall and the Shanghai Music Festival.

Georgijs Osokins: Concerts in Japan

Georgijs Osokins returns to Japan in May 2026 for performances with violinist Gidon Kremer as part of the Gidon Kremer Trio, alongside cellist Giedrė Dirvanauskaitė. The trio appears at Suntory Hall, Tokyo, on 1 May, with a further performance on 3 May, presenting a programme featuring works by Arvo Pärt, Chopin, Giya Kancheli and Beethoven.

Pianist Georgijs Osokins appears in concert with violinist Gidon Kremer and cellist Giedrė Dirvanauskaitė in Italy this April. The trio performs a programme including Beethoven’s Piano Trio No. 7 in B-flat major, Op. 97 “Archduke”, alongside works by Arvo Pärt and Dmitri Shostakovich. The artists appear at the Teatro Comunale in Monfalcone on 16 April 2026, at the Teatro della Pergola in Florence on 18 April 2026, and at the Aula Magna of La Sapienza University in Rome on 21 April 2026.
