Biography

Estonian soprano Mirjam Mesak is a current member of the Bayerische Staatsoper ensemble, where she has left an indelible impression in roles from Iolanta to Musetta. In September 2022, she portrayed the leading role in Axel Ranisch’s film “Orphea in Love” which premiered at the Bavarian State Opera – proving that the soprano possesses not only an “outstanding voice” (Crescendo) but is also a skilled actress. The film was subsequently released in cinemas throughout Europe.

Mirjam Mesak: Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in Tallinn and Pärnu

Soprano Mirjam Mesak will join the Flanders Symphony Orchestra and conductor Kristiina Poska to perform Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 and Choral Fantasy in Tallinn and Pärnu on April 22 and 23, 2025. She will be joined by a stellar cast of soloists and the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir.

Elene Gvritishvili and Mirjam Mesak: The Cunning Little Vixen in Munich

Mirjam Mesak takes on the role of Mrs. Páskova and Jay while Elene Gvritishvili sings Chocholka in The Cunning Little Vixen on March 8, 10 and 14 at the Munich State Opera. The Barrie Kosky’s and Michael Levine’s production of Janáček’s fairy tale is conducted by Lothar Koenigs.

Mirjam Mesak: Der Freischütz at the Semperoper Dresden

Soprano Mirjam Mesak takes on the role of Ännchen in Carl Maria von Weber's Der Freischütz at the Semperoper Dresden. She performs alongside Golda Schultz as Agathe and Maximilian Schmitt as Max. The production is directed by Axel Köhler and conducted by Georg Fritzsch. Performances are scheduled for February 15, 19, 21, and 28, 2025.
