Biography

The British-Russian baritone Theodore Platt, praised by critics for his “warm and powerful” voice (Music OMH), has established himself as one of the most compelling baritones of his generation. 

Highlights of the 2026/27 season include his role debut as Albert in Massenet’s Werther at the Royal Danish Opera Copenhagen as well as his role and house debut as Harlekin in Strauss’ Ariadne auf Naxos at the La Monnaie/De Munt in Brussels. On the concert stage, he performs Polydorus in Berlioz’s L’Enfance du Christ with the George Enescu Philharmonic in Bucharest and reprises the work with the Berlin Philharmonic. Further concert engagements include James MacMillan’s Christmas Oratorio with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 with Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège, and Mozart’s Coronation Mass with the Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España (OCNE) at Madrid’s Auditorio Nacional.  In recital, he reunites with pianist Keval Shah to present their acclaimed programme “Mortal Wounds” at Berlin’s Pierre Boulez Saal, with further recital appearances including a performance in Zeist.
