Edgardo Rocha is one of today’s foremost interpreters of bel canto repertoire, praised for his warm timbre, lively coloratura, and brilliant high notes. Since making his European debut in the title role of Gianni di Parigi by Donizetti at the Festival della Valle d’Itria di Martina Franca, the tenor is a frequent guest in the world’s leading opera houses and festivals, which include Opernhaus Zürich, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Bayerische Staatsoper, Vienna State Opera and the Salzburg Festival.

Edgardo Rocha: Premiere of Gianni Schicchi at the Opéra De Monte Carlo

On February 23 tenor Edgardo Rocha performs Rinuccio in a new production of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi at the Opéra De Monte Carlo. The production is staged by Grischa Asagaroff and conducted by maestra Speranza Scappucci. Joined by soprano Nina Minasyan as Lauretta, Rocha can be seen in further performances on February 25, 27 and 29.

Edgardo Rocha takes on his signature role of Lindoro in Moshe Leiser & Patrice Caurier's acclaimed production of L'italiana in Algeri conducted by Gianluca Capuano at Zurich Opera House. Alongside Cecilia Bartoli and Nadezhda Karyazina as Isabella and Pietro Spagnoli as Mustafà, the tenor goes on stage on December 31, January 2, 4, 6 & 9.

Tenor Edgardo Rocha makes his Los Angeles Opera debut in his signature role of Almaviva in Il Barbiere di Siviglia. He can be seen on stage alongside Joshua Hopkins as Figaro and Isabel Leonard as Rosina on October 21 and 29 as well as November 2, 4, 9 and 12, 2023, under the musical direction of Louis Lohraseb.
