In April Kate Lindsey returns to Vienna to give her debut as Penelope in Claudio Monteverdi's Il Ritorno D'Ulisse in Patria. With this production the mezzo closes the Monteverdi Cycle (L’incoronazione di Poppea and La favola di Orfeo) at the Vienna State Opera. The production is conducted by Pablo Heras-Casado and performances take place on 2, 4, 8, 11 & 14 April 2023.

Theodore Platt gives his debut at the Baden-Baden Easter Festival together with Berliner Philharmoniker and under the baton of chief conductor Kirill Petrenko. The baritone takes on the role of night watchman in Strauss' Die Frau ohne Schatten. The new production by the US director Lydia Steier opens the Baden-Baden Easter Festival on 1 April, with further performances on 5 & 9 April. Platt can also be seen in a concert performance of the opera in the Berlin Philharmonie on 14 April.

Serena Sáenz sings Queen of the Night in Mozart’s The Magic Flute under the baton of Sesto Quatrini at the Teatro Regio Torino. The production was co-directed by Barry Kosky and Suzanne Andrade from the UK theatre company 1927, with full-scale animation created by her co-Artistic Director Paul Barritt. It premiered in Berlin at the Komische Oper in 2012 and continues to play worldwide, coming to Turin for the first time. The performances take place on March 31 and April 2, 11, 13.
