On February 14th, Regula Mühlemann presents her wonderful concert programme Cleopatra together with La Folia Barockorchester at the St. Johann church in Schaffhausen. The concert is entwined around the Egyptigian emporess and includes baroque arias and music by Antonio Vivaldi, Georg Friedrich Händel, Carl Heinrich Graun, Johann Adolph Hasse, Alessandro Scarlatti and others.

On February 08th, the tenor Piotr Beczała returns to the Philharmonie for a recital in the intimacy of the Salle de Musique de Chambre. This time he puts his "velvety timbre and brilliant high notes" (ResMusica) at the service of Robert Schumann's song cycle Dichterliebe, followed by arias penned by Sergei Rachmaninoff and Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The singer roams the musical realms of Germany and Russia accompanied by Helmut Deutsch.

On 3rd February 2022 tenor Joseph Calleja performs at the 5th Winter Festival alongside the Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Italian conductor Gianluca Marcianò. The program includes works by Giuseppe Verdi, Jules Massenet, Giacomo Puccini, Pietro Mascagni and Francesco Cilea.

On February 03rd, the much applauded Polish tenor, Piotr Beczala, returns to the Liceu, together with pianist Sarah Tysman, for a recital. With a programme full of highlights – from Verdi arias to Rachmaninov songs and Tchaikovsky arias through out to the French repertoire of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette and Massenet’s Werther – the tenor will show the versatility of his voice, his infinite range of nuances and the mastery of mezza voce and pianissimo which are the hallmarks of his art.

Rising British-Russian baritone Theodore Platt, celebrated for his “warm and powerful English baritone” (Music OMH) is one of opera’s most promising young voices. A recent member of the Bayerische Staatsoper’s Opera Studio, during his tenure he was awarded the prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Trust (BBT) fellowship. The 2024/25 season marks an exciting new chapter for Theodore Platt as he joins the ensemble of the Copenhagen Opera House, marking a significant milestone in his career. In this capacity, he takes on several important roles, showcasing his versatility as a baritone across different operatic styles. These include his role debut as Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Lord Cecil in Maria Stuarda, and his role debut as the titular character Figaro in Gioachino Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia. Platt’s concert season includes an appearance with the Eppaner Liedsommer classical music festival in South Tyrol, Italy, where he gives a recital alongside pianist Keval Shah. Under the baton of Roberto Gonzales-Monjas, Theodore Platt presents Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 at the Großes Festspielhaus in Salzburg.

Together with baritone Quinn Kelsey, soprano Rosa Feola as Gilda and with leading maestro Daniele Rustioni on the podium, the performance will be live in cinemas, bringing opera to movie theaters across the globe.
