Jonah Hoskins
Rising lyric tenor Jonah Hoskins, a recent graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s prestigious Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, is one of the most promising young voices in opera. A Grand Finals winner of the 2020 Met Competition, Hoskins has continued to triumph on the competition scene: he was awarded with the second prize at Placido Domingo’s Operalia Competition, was the recipient of the Extraordinary Artistic Promise Award at the Lotte Lenya Competition, and placed first in the National Opera Association Competition.
In the 2025-26 season, Jonah Hoskins begins his two-year tenure as a member of the Hamburg State Opera’s ensemble, debuting as Ferrando in Mozart’s Così fan tutte and later appearing as Almaviva in Tatjana Gürbaca’s new production of Rossini’s Il barbiere di Siviglia. Returning to Berlin, the tenor debuts the role of Fenton in Verdi’s Falstaff with the Berlin State Opera and makes his house debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Lindoro in Rolando Villazón’s new staging of Rossini’s L'italiana in Algeri. Further engagements include the role of Ernesto in Don Pasquale in his first performances for Opéra de Toulon, followed by his highly anticipated company debut with London’s Royal Opera House as Tonio in La fille du régiment.
