On April 29 Cameron Shahbazi and Sophia Muñoz present the recital titled Light Always Overcomes Darkness at the stARTfestival 2026 at the Friedenskirche in Monheim am Rhein. On July 4 countertenor Cameron Shahbazi joins the London Symphony Orchestra and conductor Oliver Zeffman for the concert titled “Voices of joy and sorry” under the auspices of Classical Pride. Shahbazi sings George Benjamin’s Dream of the Song, mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton performs a new commission by US composer Jake Heggie, as well as the iconic gay anthem Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz. Additionally the orchestra performs Jennifer Higdon’s blue cathedral, Saint-Saëns’ rambunctious Bacchanale, and the evening finishes with Tchaikovsky’s heart-rending and much-loved Swan Lake Suite.
