Cameron Shahbazi: Classical Pride with the London Symphony Orchestra

On July 4 countertenor Cameron Shahbazi joins the London Symphony Orchestra and conductor Oliver Zeffman for the concert titled “Voices of joy and sorry” under the auspices of Classical Pride. Shahbazi sings George Benjamin’s Dream of the Song, mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton performs a new commission by US composer Jake Heggie, as well as the iconic gay anthem Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz. Additionally the orchestra performs Jennifer Higdon’s blue cathedral, Saint-Saëns’ rambunctious Bacchanale, and the evening finishes with Tchaikovsky’s heart-rending and much-loved Swan Lake Suite.
