Piotr Beczala and Olga Kulchynska perform Bizet’s Carmen at the Royal Opera House with the premiere on April 5, 2024. Beczala as Don Jose joins on stage Aigul Akhmetshina in the title role in Damiano Michieletto's searing new production under the baton of Antonello Manacorda, while Kulchynska makes her house debut as Michaela. Both singers can also be heard on April 8, 11, 14, 23 and May 1, 2024, while the tenor also performs on April 16, 26 and May 5.

Piotr Beczała as Carmen’s troubled lover Don José shares the stage with young mezzo-soprano Aigul Akhmetshina as Carmen, with Angel Blue as Micaëla, and with bass-baritone Kyle Ketelsen as Escamillo. Daniele Rustioni conducts Bizet’s heart-pounding score and acclaimed English director Carrie Cracknell makes her Met debut.
