Director François Girard unveils an atmospheric staging, with music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin on the podium and a supreme cast: Tamara Wilson and Elena Stikhina, as the virtuous duchess Elsa, soprano Christine Goerke as the cunning sorceress Ortrud, Bass-baritone Evgeny Nikitin as Ortrud’s power-hungry husband, Telramund, and bass Günther Groissböck as King Heinrich. More performances will take place on March 2, 5, 10, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28 and on April 01, 2023.

Umberto Giordano’s Fedora returns to the Met repertory for the first time in 25 years. Piotr Beczala stars in the role of Count Loris alongside soprano Sonya Yoncheva and baritone Artur Ruciński as the diplomat De Siriex, with Met maestro Marco Armiliato conducting. Director David McVicar delivers a detailed and dramatic staging based around an ingenious fixed set that, like a Russian nesting doll, unfolds to reveal the opera’s three distinctive settings—a palace in St. Petersburg, a fashionable Parisian salon, and a picturesque villa in the Swiss Alps. Performances are on December 31st, January 04, 07, 11, 14, 19, 22 & 28, 2023.
