Biography

A graduate of the St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire and of the Bolshoi Young Artist Programme, Elene Gvritishvili is joining the Bayerische Staatsoper’s Opera Studio in 24/25 season. The young soprano has already successfully performed at the Salzburg Festspielhaus and Mozarteum, the Bolshoi Theatre, Philharmonic halls in Moscow and St. Petersburg and other renowned venues.

Elene Gvritishvili: Don Carlo in Munich

Elene Gvritishvili can be heard in Jürgen Rose’s production of Don Carlo at the Bayerishe Staatsoper. In the performances on May 4, 10 and 17, 2025, conducted by Zubin Mehta, Gvritishvili takes on the role of Tebaldo, Elisabeth’s page, with Erwin Schrott as Philipp II and Stephen Castello in the title role.

Elene Gvritishvili: Káťa Kabanová in Munich

Elene Gvritishvili sings Fekluša in the new production of Káťa Kabanová by Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla and Krzysztof Warlikowski at the Munich State Opera. Gvritishvili can be heard on March 17, 21, 24, 27, 30 and May 7, 2025. The young soprano joins on stage Corinne Winters in the title role, Milan Siljanov as Dikoj and Violeta Urmana as Kabanicha.
