Biography

Rising lyric tenor Jonah Hoskins, a graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s prestigious Lindemann Young Artist Development Program, is one of the most promising young voices of the opera world. A Grand Finals winner of the 2020 Met Competition, Hoskins has continued to triumph on the competition scene: he was awarded with the second prize at Placido Domingo’s Operalia Competition at the Bolshoi Theatre, was the recipient of the Extraordinary Artistic Promise Award at the Lotte Lenya Competition, and placed first in the National Opera Association Competition.

Rolando Villazón, Emily D’Angelo, Hanna-Elisabeth Müller und Jonah Hoskins: Idomeneo in Berlin State Opera

Rolando Villazón makes his role debut as Idomeneo, Jonah Hoskins debuts as Arbace in Idomeneo revival at the Berlin State Opera. They are joined on stage by Emily D’Angelo as Idamante and Hanna-Elisabeth Müller taking on the role of Elettra. David McVicar’s production of Idomeneo is conducted by Alessandro De Marchi and can be heard on February 28, March 2,6, 8 and 14, 2025.

Jonah Hoskins: L’elisir d’amore at the Florida Grand Opera

Tenor Jonah Hoskins revisits the role of Nemorino in Donizetti’s L'elisir d'amore at the Florida Grand Opera. Hoskins is joined on stage by Jasmine Habersham as Adina and Peixin Chen as Dr. Dulcamara. Matt Cooksey‘s production is lead under the musical direction of Tony Barrese. The opera can be experienced in Miami on February 1, 2 and 4 and in Fort Lauderdale on February 13, 15.

Jonah Hoskins: New Year’s concert with Staatskapelle Dresden

Tenor Jonah Hoskins’ stars at the annual New Year’s concerts of the Staatskapelle Dresden under the baton of Karina Canellakis. Hoskins’ is joined on stage by soprano Fatma Said and pianist Kirill Gerstein. The concerts take place at Semperoper Dresden on December 29 and 30. The concert on December 29 is being recorded by national German television, ZDF, and will be available for streaming from December 30.
