Soprano Olga Peretyatko sings in Georges Bizet’s opera “Les pêcheurs de perles” at the Berlin State Opera in October. She takes on the role of Leïla.

The opera in three acts is about a complicated triangular story: once before, the love for Leïla threatened to divide the longtime friends Zurga and Nadir. Although both men have sworn to each other to forego the beautiful young woman, neither this promise nor Leïla’s vow of chastity can prevent her and Nadir from being overwhelmed when they meet again…
