Biography

Rising countertenor Cameron Shahbazi, praised for his “full, voluminous” voice and “personal and beautiful” timbre (De Trouw), is celebrated for his acclaimed interpretations of both baroque and contemporary music. In 2023, he was awarded the prestigious Opus Klassik Award in the ‘Innovative Concert of the Year’ category for his brainchild entitled “Woman.Life.Freedom.”, a benefit concert at Oper Frankfurt produced in support of human rights in Iran.

Cameron Shahbazi: Baroque Arias and Persian melodies in the Sainte-Chapelle in Paris

Countertenor Cameron Shahbazi gives a unique concert in the historic Sainte-Chapelle in Paris as a part of the Paris Sainte Chapelle Opera Festival. Together with pianist Jeff Cohen Shahbazi performs a variety of songs from Baroque Arias to Persian melodies. The concert takes place on April 20.

On January 25th and January 26th , 2024, the countertenor Cameron Shahbazi sings a concert version of the contemporary opera Written on skin by the British composer George Benjamin. The concerts take place in Le Nouveau Siècle in Lille and in the Grand Théâtre in Calais. Alexandre Bloch, the Music Director of Orchestre National de Lille, conducts.
