Gaëlle Arquez



French mezzo-soprano Gaëlle Arquez is one of the rising stars of the opera world. After graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, the young mezzo-soprano made her debut at the Opéra Bastille in Michael Haneke’s 2013 version of Don Giovanni (Zerlina) under the direction of Philippe Jordan. Ever since she has been invited to sing in many of the most renowned opera houses in the world. Nominated “Révélation Lyrique” at the “Victoires de la Musique 2011”, Gaëlle Arquez released her highly anticipated debut recording “Ardente Flamme” for Deutsche Grammophon in 2017.

Gaëlle Arquez and Serena Sáenz go on stage of the Staatsoper Berlin to take part in Martin Kušej’s Carmen production conducted by maestro Bertrand de Billy. Gaëlle Arquez performs her signature role of Carmen and Serena Sáenz performs the role of Frasquita. Alongside Stanislas de Barbeyrac as Don José, they can be heard on February 5, 11, 17, 22, 26 & March 3.

Gaëlle Arquez sings her signature role of Carmen in Calixto Bieito’s production of the most famous French opera. Alongside Michael Spyres as Don José, the mezzo soprano goes on the Opéra Bastille stage on November 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30 & December 3.

Gaëlle Arquez: Concert with the Wiener Symphoniker at the Wiener Konzerthaus

Gaëlle Arquez makes her house debut at the Wiener Konzerthaus taking part in the concert with Wiener Symphoniker and maestro Marc Minkowski. The mezzo soprano performs Ernest Chausson’s "Poème de l'amour et de la mer", song cycle for voice and orchestra op. 19, on October 14 & 16.
