Gaëlle Arquez



French mezzo-soprano Gaëlle Arquez is one of the most prominent rising stars of the opera world. After graduating from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris, the young mezzo-soprano made her debut at the Opéra Bastille in Michael Haneke’s 2013 version of Don Giovanni (Zerlina) under the direction of Philippe Jordan. Ever since, she has been frequently invited to sing in many of the most renowned opera houses in the world. Nominated “Révélation Lyrique” at the “Victoires de la Musique 2011”, Gaëlle Arquez released her highly anticipated debut recording “Ardente Flamme” for Deutsche Grammophon in 2017.

Gaëlle Arquez: Don Giovanni at the Opéra de Paris

On September 13, Gaëlle Arquez commences the new season at the Opéra de Paris, portraying Donna Elvira in Mozart's Don Giovanni. Claus Guth's new production is conducted by Antonello Manacorda. The mezzo-soprano can be seen on stage for a total of 7 times, precisely on September 19, 26 and October 1, 4, 7, 12, 2023.

Gaëlle Arquez: Carmen at Opéra Comique

Gaëlle Arquez sings her signature role of Carmen in Andreas Homoki’s production of the most performed opera in the world . Alongside Frédéric Antoun as Don José, the mezzo soprano goes on stage of the Opéra Comique on April 24, 26, 28, 30 and May 2 & 4.

Gaëlle Arquez and Serena Sáenz go on stage of the Staatsoper Berlin to take part in Martin Kušej’s Carmen production conducted by maestro Bertrand de Billy. Gaëlle Arquez performs her signature role of Carmen and Serena Sáenz performs the role of Frasquita. Alongside Stanislas de Barbeyrac as Don José, they can be heard on February 5, 11, 17, 22, 26 & March 3.
