Biography

The young mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz is hailed as one of Austria’s foremost upcoming artists. Since beginning her studies in Lied and Oratorio with Florian Boesch and Claudia Visca in 2019, she was awarded the Casinos Austria Rising Star Award 2019 and named as a prizewinner at the ÖJAB Music Competition Vienna and the Osaka Music Competition in Japan. In the same year she received an Anny Felbermayer scholarship.

In autumn 2020, she enjoyed great success with her debut as Cherubino in a new production of Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro at the Theater an der Wien, conducted by Stefan Gottfried and directed by Alfred Dorfer. After two years in the opera studio of the Vienna State Opera, where she celebrated her first successes as Cherubino and as Zerlina in a new production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni under Philippe Jordan, she joined the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera in the 2022-2023 season. Patricia Nolz received the Austrian Music Theatre Award for her interpretation of Zerlina in Barrie Kosky’s production of Don Giovanni at the Vienna State Opera.

Patricia Nolz: Recital at the Wiener Konzerthaus

On February 12, Mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz gives a recital together with pianist Malcolm Martineau in the Mozart-Saal of the Wiener Konzerthaus. The program consists of a variety of songs by Robert Schumann, Hugo Wolf and Alexander Zemlinsky.

Patricia Nolz, Theodore Platt: Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Copenhagen

Mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz and baritone Theodore Platt will perform the roles of Rosina and Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen. Patricia Nolz is scheduled to perform on February 7, 18, 25, 28 and March 2 and 6, while Theodore Platt will take the stage on February 18, 25, 28, March 2, 27, 29 and April 1, 4 and 8. This acclaimed production, directed by Reumert Award-winning director Martin Lyngbo, is inspired by silent movies and has been praised for its electrifying cinematic adaptation of Rossini's classic.

Rising mezzo soprano Patricia Nolz joins CSAM Centre Stage Artist Management is thrilled to announce the addition of rising Austrian mezzo soprano Patricia Nolz to our roster. Widely considered as one of the most exciting artists of her generation, the young mezzo soprano will be represented by CSAM worldwide for operatic engagements. In the 2024-25 season, Patricia Nolz performs Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Rosina (Il Barbiere di Siviglia) at the Vienna State Opera. Also in Vienna, Patricia Nolz makes her debut as as Stéphano in Gounod's Roméo et Juliette and as Silla in Pfitzner's Palestrina under the baton of Christian Thielemann. Additionally, she makes her house debut at Copenhagen’s Royal Opera as Rosina in a new production of Rossini's Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
