Biography

Spanish Soprano Serena Sáenz has been lauded for her “musicality, good taste in ornamentation and luminous high notes with a good arsenal of bel canto resources” (Scherzo). She is the recipient of three prizes at the 2022 Operalia Competition in Riga, namely of the Second Prize of Plácido Domingo’s world opera competition, the Pepita Embil Prize of Zarzuela, and the Birgit Nilsson Prize.

Serena Sáenz: Magic Flute at the Les Arts Valencia

Serena Sáenz takes on her signature role of Pamina in a production of Magic Flute that opens on June 6 at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía in Valencia. Alongside Giovanni Sala as Tamino, she joins the production staged by Simon McBurney and conducted by James Gaffigan. Further performances can be seen on June 8, 12, 14, 17 & 19.
