Kosovar tenor Granit Musliu is among the most promising young singers of his generation. He received his vocal training at the University of Pristina and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. He is a former member of the opera studio at the Bayerische Staatsoper and has been a part of the ensemble since season 2024/25, a tenure he continues through the 2026/27 season.

The 2026/27 season brings major debuts for Musliu, highlighted by his house debut at the Berlin State Opera as Alfredo Germont in Verdi’s La traviata under Giuseppe Mentuccia. He also makes his house and role debut at the Polish National Opera as Narraboth in Strauss’ Salome in Claus Guth’s production, conducted by Yoel Gamzou.

Kosovar tenor Granit Musliu is among the most promising young singers of his generation. He received his vocal training at the University of Pristina and the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. He is a former member of the opera studio at the Bayerische Staatsoper and has been a part of the ensemble since season 2024/25, a tenure he continues through the 2026/27 season.

The 2026/27 season brings major debuts for Musliu, highlighted by his house debut at the Berlin State Opera as Alfredo Germont in Verdi’s La traviata under Giuseppe Mentuccia. He also makes his house and role debut at the Polish National Opera as Narraboth in Strauss’ Salome in Claus Guth’s production, conducted by Yoel Gamzou.

At the Bayerische Staatsoper, he furthermore appears as Macduff in Verdi’s Macbeth, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Edmondo in Puccini’s Manon Lescaut, Matteo Borsa in Rigoletto, the Italian Singer in Der Rosenkavalier, and Rustighello in Donizetti’s Lucrezia Borgia.

Recent engagements include Musliu’s debut at the Royal Danish Opera in Copenhagen as the Duke in Verdi’s Rigoletto, where he also appeared as the Italian Singer in Der Rosenkavalier.

At Staatsoper Hamburg, he made his house and role debut as Fenton in Falstaff. Further operatic highlights include his house debut as Cassio in Otello at Semperoper Dresden, where he subsequently returned as Erster Edler in Lohengrin.

On the concert stage, Musliu appeared with the Deutsche Rhein-Philharmonie in Düsseldorf and Duisburg in Mozart’s Requiem and in Hannover in Mozart’s Mass in C minor.

At the Bayerische Staatsoper, Musliu has appeared in a wide range of roles and most recently made his role debut as Alfredo Germont in La traviata. Further roles include Malcolm in Macbeth, Matteo Borsa in Rigoletto, Pong in Turandot, Rustighello and Jeppo Liverotto in Lucrezia Borgia, Alfred in Die Fledermaus, Edmondo in Manon Lescaut, Beppo in Pagliacci, Noble of Brabant in a new production of Lohengrin, Arturo in Lucia di Lammermoor in which he in 2022 stepped in at short notice alongside Nadine Sierra and Juan Diego Flórez, Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi, Harry in La fanciulla del West, Flavio in Norma, Ruiz in Il trovatore, Festordner in a new production of Pique Dame, Adjutant in Dmitri Tcherniakov’s production of Prokofiev’s War and Peace, Ein Offizier in Ariadne auf Naxos, First Commissioner in Dialogues des Carmélites and Leibbojar in Boris Godunov.

Granit Musliu has received a number of awards including the Grand Prix of the Ars Kosova Music Competition, 2nd prize in the 2020 Hamburg Mozart Prize and 2nd prize in the Jorgjia Truja Competition with an invitation to a masterclass with Anna Pirozzi.
