On July 5 soprano Serena Sáenz sings a recital together with pianist Matthias Samuil under the auspices of the festival “Klassik in Klagenfurt”. Together the two present a program consisting of a variety of arias and lieder by Donizetti, Mozart, Liszt and Mendelssohn. The recital takes place in the Burghof Klagenfurt in Austria.

Thomas Hampson: Così fan tutte in Munich

Baritone Thomas Hampson returns to the role of Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Bayerische Staatsoper on July 5, 2025. The production by Benedict Andrews, premiered in 2022, is part of the company’s staging of the acclaimed Da Ponte trilogy. Christopher Moulds conducts the Bayerisches Staatsorchester. Cameron Shahbazi: Classical Pride with the London Symphony Orchestra

On July 4 countertenor Cameron Shahbazi joins the London Symphony Orchestra and conductor Oliver Zeffman for the concert titled “Voices of joy and sorry” under the auspices of Classical Pride. Shahbazi sings George Benjamin’s Dream of the Song, mezzo-soprano Jamie Barton performs a new commission by US composer Jake Heggie, as well as the iconic gay anthem Over the Rainbow from The Wizard of Oz. Additionally the orchestra performs Jennifer Higdon’s blue cathedral, Saint-Saëns’ rambunctious Bacchanale, and the evening finishes with Tchaikovsky’s heart-rending and much-loved Swan Lake Suite.

Emily D’Angelo, Stanislas de Barbeyrac: Mozart with Yannick Nézet-Seguin and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe

Mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo and tenor Stanislas de Barbeyrac join conductor Yannick Nézet-Seguin and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe for two concerts in at The Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. On July 4, the two artists perform Mozart’s Requiem alongside soprano Ying Fang and bass Michael Volle. On July 6, the concert program consists of Mozart’s Sympony no. 41, “Jupiter Symphony”, and Great Mass in C minor K. 427. Additionally, Stanislas de Barbeyrac sings a chamber music concert on July 5 with Ying Fang and Michael Volle joined by members of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe and Yannick Nézet-Seguin at the piano. Barbeyrac can be heard singing Robert Schumann’s Dichterliebe op. 48.

Emily D’Angelo: Le Nozze di Figaro at the Munich State Opera

Mezzo-soprano Emily D’Angelo returns to the Munich State Opera as Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro. The production by Evgeny Titov is lead under the baton of Susanna Mälkki. D’Angelo shares the stage with Julie Fuchs as Susanna, Maria Bengtsson as the countess and Philippe Sly in the role of Figaro. The opera can be experienced on July 3rd.

Rolando Villazón: Concert at Traunsee

Rolando Villazón performs with the Bruckner Orchestra Linz in front of the unique backdrop of the salt pyramids of Saline Ebensee. Two concerts on 5 and 6 July will feature the most beautiful melodies from the opera repertoire as well as chanson hits. Classical music is on an equal footing with musicals, compositions by Leonard Bernstein and Richard Wagner alongside those by Édith Piaf. The concert will also be broadcast on ORF III.
