Anna-Sophie Neher sings the soprano part, Jonathon Adams the bass part and Frédéric Antoun the tenor part. The concerts take place on December 9 and 11.

Felix Mendelssohn felt "the greatest emptiness and desert in his head and heart" in 1847 after the sudden death of his sister Fanny, which he dealt with artistically in his F minor string quartet - it was to be his last quartet before he too died a few months later. Together with Mojca Erdmann, the Staatskapelle Berlin string quartet juxtaposes this instrumental requiem with Gustav Mahler's Rückert songs, which revolve around themes of love and farewell. The 18-year-old Franz Schubert's G minor quartet will also be performed.

Mezzo-Soprano Gaëlle Arquez returns to the Berlin State Opera in her signature role as Carmen. Arquez is joined on stage by Ivan Gyngazov as Don José, Łukasz Goliński as Escamillo, Clara Nadeshdin as Micaëla and Maria Kokareva as Frasquita. Martin Kušej’s production of Bizet’s masterpiece is performed under the baton of Valentin Uryupin. The opera can be experienced on December 7, 10, 13, 21, 27 and January 5.

Soprano Hanna-Elisabeth Müller and tenor Jonah Hoskin’s sing Mozart Requiem together with Camerata Salzburg and Bachchor Salzburg under the baton of Dame Jane Glover. The two singers are joined on stage by alto Paula Murrihy and Bass Michael Sumuel. The concert takes place on the anniversary of Mozart’s death on December 5th at Stiftung Mozarteum in Salzburg.

Conductor Keri-Lynn makes her debut with the New York Philharmonic in a spectacular symphony concert at the David Geffen Hall, Lincoln Center. The program consists of Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10 ​which is performed alongside​ William Kentridge’s Oh To Believe in Another World, a stop-motion film. Another side of Shostakovich is on display in his Festive Overture. Concertmaster Frank Huang is the soloist in Prokofiev’s 2nd Violin Concerto. The concerts take place on December 5, 6 and 7.
