Rolando Villazón returns to the Salzburg Festival to take part in two opera galas. On May 18, 2024 Villazón sings in the staged opera pastiche Une Folle Journée based on the music from Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte to celebrate Mozart and his congenial collaborator Lorenzo Da Ponte. The tenor presents a program featuring music by Mozart, Verdi, Massenet, Offenbach, and others, on February 17 in Andermatt and on February 24 at the Opéra de Monte Carlo, accompanied by the Swiss Orchestra under the baton of Lena-Lisa Wüstendörfer. He brings the programme to Munich’s Prinzregententheater on March 11, accompanied by  the Munich Symphony Orchestra conducted by Guerassim Voronkov.
