Biography

Czech dramatic soprano Eliška Weissová has been a regular guest on international stages since 2006, performing with the National Theatre Prague, Welsh National Opera, Opéra de Rennes, Theatre Ústí nad Labem, and Slovak National Theatre. She made her auspicious house debut in 2022 at the Vienna State Opera as Kostelnička in Jenůfa under the baton of Tomáš Hanus. Her performance received critical acclaim, with many praising her powerful voice and dramatic depth.

Eliška Weissová and Sylvia D’Eramo: Elektra in St. Gallen

Sopranos Eliška Weissová and Sylvia D'Eramo star in Theater St. Gallen's production of Strauss' Elektra, portraying the roles of Elektra and Chrysothemis, respectively. Performances are scheduled for May 10, 20, 26, and June 1, 2025. Joining them are contralto Ariana Lucas, tenor Riccardo Botta, and baritone Kristján Jóhannesson. The production is directed by Lisaboa Houbrechts and conducted by Modestas Pitrenas.

Eliška Weissová: Jenůfa at the Theater Freiburg

Eliška Weissová returns to her signature role of Kostelnička in Jenůfa, this time performing at the Theater Freiburg in the new production by Kateryna Sokolova. The Czech soprano can be heard on January 18, 22, and 26, 2025. Inga Schäfer will sing the role of Jenůfa, while André de Ridder will conduct the performances on January 18 and 26. On January 22, Thomas Schmieger will take the conductor's podium.

Eliška Weissová: Smetana’s Dalibor in Košice

The National Theatre Košice celebrate the 200th anniversary of Bedřich Smetana on June 22 with a concert performance of his Dalibor, in which Eliška Weissová will sing the role of Milada. Other soloists also include Peter Berger, Marián Lukáč, Michaela Várady, and others, with Tomáš Hanus conducting.
