Olivia Smith

Lauded for her “rich, humane soprano” (Opera Canada) and “convincing and poignant” portrayals (Boston Musical Intelligencer), Canadian soprano Olivia Smith is a current member of San Francisco Opera’s prestigious Adler Fellowship Program, where in Fall 2024 she debuts the role of Micaëla at SFO’s immersive experience Carmen Encounter. She also covers Micaëla for the mainstage Carmen performances, and will be heard in various SFO concert performances throughout the season. Additionally in the 2024-25 season, Smith makes her role and company debut as Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the Opera Philadelphia, under the baton of Corrado Rovaris.

Patricia Nolz

The young mezzo-soprano Patricia Nolz is hailed as one of Austria’s foremost upcoming artists. Since beginning her studies in Lied and Oratorio with Florian Boesch and Claudia Visca in 2019, she was awarded the Casinos Austria Rising Star Award 2019 and named as a prizewinner at the ÖJAB Music Competition Vienna and the Osaka Music Competition in Japan. In the same year she received an Anny Felbermayer scholarship. In autumn 2020, she enjoyed great success with her debut as Cherubino in a new production of Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro at the Theater an der Wien, conducted by Stefan Gottfried and directed by Alfred Dorfer. After two years in the opera studio of the Vienna State Opera, where she celebrated her first successes as Cherubino and as Zerlina in a new production of Mozart's Don Giovanni under Philippe Jordan, she joined the ensemble of the Vienna State Opera in the 2022-2023 season. Patricia Nolz received the Austrian Music Theatre Award for her interpretation of Zerlina in Barrie Kosky's production of Don Giovanni at the Vienna State Opera.
